He's working in some organizations helping the refugees. He has been in Greece and also in Calais. This was a refugees' camp in France, that have been destroyed in October, because the French government didn't recognize it like a legal camp.
His organization is called, “Pro-Refugiados” that started a year ago. And they are trying to promote that refugees are welcome at Spain. Nowadays they are creating links between the organizations that work with the refugees.
There are some non-written rules between these organizations, one of the most important is that it's not allowed to record the refugees because the Great Britain government use this images to recognize illegal immigrants.
This comic is really important, because this comic is the only way to see inside the camp.
Javier told us that the children cannot go to school there, because they are always traveling across the countries.
Most of the refugees want to go to Great Britain but after the Brexit this situation has gotten worse, so their second option is going to Canada. Canada has a lot of full integrations plans for refugees, in which they get a job and a house.
There is an international law of immigration. The Dublin agreement said that you get asylum in the place that you enter. That is where some refugees are hidden in some countries.
They were really kind even though they were exhausted. They don't know what is going to happen to them tomorrow.
It is good to compare that situation with Spain after the civil war, because lots of people run away to another countries like France, Argentina, etc…
They cannot have a normal life. For example they can not have a phone, because they have to fill an application to prove that they are not illegal. They'll not be able to integrated in our society if we wouldn't change a lot of things and we started to apply to the law.
What can we do to help the organization ?
If you have time you can go to a meeting and get involved with the organization.
And if you want to donate some money you should donate to organization which are in the country that you want to help. Because it is really expensive to move the food and the basics files to other countries like Greece. Only the half of the immigrants survive to the trip between Sudan to Greece.
