On the second day of Febfast Sugar, Natvia gave to me... ;) Banana Loaf by Doris Y, from QLD Ingredients 1 cup Natvia ⅓ cup margarine 3 ripe bananas 2 eggs 1 tablespoon soda, dissolved in 1 tablesppon cold water 2 cups plain flour 1 tablespoon baking powder ½ tablespoons vanilla essence ¼ tablespoons ground cinnamon ¼nutmeg Method MAKES 12 Preheat oven to 180˚C. Back to work SMOOTHIE A smoothie first thing is a great way to pack a load of energy boosting nutrients into your body! If you haven't tried one due to the fact that you feel that you just won't like the taste, I urge you to embrace the goodness and give it a go. You can keep them simple or you can fully jazz them up with all sorts of health enhancing ingredients. Todays smoothie consisted of... 1 coconut, water and flesh (or raw C coconut water if you can't get a fresh one) 1 cup of filtered water 1 cup of almonds (soaked overnight, drained and rinsed) 2 cucumbers, chopped A couple of handfuls of spinach A bunch of parsley A handful of mint 2 tablespoons of Maca (maca packs a punch so if it's wise to start off with smaller amounts to see how your system reacts) 2 teaspoons of liquorice root powder (we use it for it's sweetness, but it's very powerful so check with your health care professional if you have any concerns, and do not use it if you're taking warfarin). 2 teaspoons of cinnamon (verum is the best) 3 raw organic eggs This makes more than enough for 2 and can easily be shared between 3. You can add all sorts of other ingredients like Gubinge powder, hemp seeds or powder, chia seeds, maqui berry, camu camu, aloe juice, spirulina, ginger, turmeric, cloves, bee pollen, berries... the list goes on and on. Also if you're in Sydney you can grab yourself a fresh, organic smoothie from B.U Organics or the Suveran in Bondi Junction - they make delicious, incredibly nutrient dense takeaway greenness!

Cashew and Rosewater Palmiers Ingredients 1 cup roasted cashews (or shelled pistachios, or a mix of both) 2 tablespoons Natvia 1 tablespoon (20g) butter, softened to room temperature 4 teaspoons rosewater 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed 6 tablespoons Natvia, for dusting Method Makes 36 Process the nuts, 2 tablespoons Natvia, butter and cinnamon in a food processor. Add the rosewater gradually until it forms a rough paste that is the consistency of peanut butter. Dust the work surface with 2 tablespoons of the remaining Natvia. Place a sheet of pastry on top and use a rolling pin to gentrly press the pastry onto the Natvia. Spread about one tablespoon of the nut mixture along one edge of the pastry, so that it covers about a quarter of the pastry sheet. Do the same for the opposite side of the pastry. Fold the two paste-covered sides inwards so they meet at the middle of the pastry. Then fold one paste-centred side over so it is sitting on the other. You should now have a log of pastry that is the length of the pastry sheet and a quarter of the width. Wrap this in cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Refrigeration makes the palmiers easier to cut and also maximises the flakiness of the pastry. Repeat for the other two sheets of pastry. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celcius (180 fan-forced). Line 3 trays with baking paper. Take one of the pastry logs and cut into 1.5cm slices. Place them facing cut-side up on trays about 1.5cm apart to allow for expansion. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until golden. Cool on rack and store in an airtight container, will stay crisp for about 5 days. Raw Vegan 'Egg' Nog Magic! by Pickles n Honey Here is a delicious Raw, Dairy Free, Gluten Free & Vegan friendly version to the traditional Egg Nog. 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 2 hours 3 cups filtered water 5 pitted medjool dates 1 medium banana, frozen ¼ small avocado, frozen 2½ teaspoons vanilla extract 1 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves cinnamon sticks for garnish 1) Drain and rinse the cashews, then add them to your Optimum Blender along with the 3 cups of water.
