Democrats Play With Fire in GOP Primaries

Why would Democrats buy advertising or otherwise get involved in Republican primary races? It's an old tactic both parties have used to help "unelectable" fringe candidates secure the nomination for the opposing party. But critics say the strategy is especially risky in an era when some Republican candidates openly promote falsehoods about President Trump's 2020 election loss and hold other extreme views.
