  Thermalling KKB!

  Practicing the art of "Thermalling." I purposely left out the music and fancy editing to share what it sounds like being up high in the sky. Thermals are columns of rising air that are formed on the ground through the warming of the surface by sunlight. It is here, that paraglider like my self, try to gain height in order to fly far. As you can see, I'm still at the beginner phase of learning this amazing sport. The beeps you are hearing are from my variometer. This device lets me know the rate and speed of my lift. The faster I go up, the faster the beep. This is my first time flying Kuala Kubu Bharu, in Malaysia. It's about a 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, or a 5 hour drive from Singapore. As you can see from the video, its an amazingly beautiful site. The area is quite thermic and pretty good for xc flights too. Lots of landing spots, and just a good site overall.
