A stunning lavender-scented shot from @jasonlstephens of a past season at the Bridestowe Lavender Estate in Tasmania’s North. Tassie’s Lavender industry was established by London perfumer C. K. Denny in 1922, when he planted lavender seed sourced from the French Alps. These days the essential oil that is distilled from the blossums is in high demand world-wide for use in cosmetics, purfumes and aromatherapy. Flowering at Bridestowe usually commences in mid-November, and by December and January the 265 acres of manicured lavender plants are in full display. No visit to the Estate is complete with sampling some the lavender inspired cuisine! Thanks for tagging #discovertasmania, Jason. #bridestowelavender #northerntasmania #lavender http://ift.tt/1MfLo5g
