  Tsaatan : les derniers nomades de Mongolie

  Surnommés "le peuple des rennes," les Tsaatans sont l'une des tribus les plus fascinantes de la planète. Comptant seulement deux cents membres, ils vivent dans l'extrême nord de la Mongolie, une région isolée, reculée et glacée. Ces éleveurs de rennes nomades ont préservé leurs traditions ancestrales et continuent de pratiquer le chamanisme. Ils vivent en petits clans familiaux, logeant dans des tentes de toile, sous des températures qui peuvent descendre jusqu'à -40 degrés en hiver. Pourtant, ils se disent heureux, menant une vie libre au cœur d'une nature magnifique et intacte, sans jamais se plaindre. Leur bonheur et leur mode de vie quotidien contrastent fortement avec notre existence occidentale. Cependant, le monde moderne et la technologie commencent à les atteindre. L'école, récemment devenue obligatoire pour leurs enfants, soulève de nombreuses questions. Que faire ? Protéger leurs enfants d'un progrès qu'ils jugent nocif ou les éduquer pour leur permettre de s'intégrer dans la civilisation ? Ces nomades savent qu'ils doivent choisir entre leurs traditions et la vie contemporaine, entre la liberté et le confort. Conscients de vivre un moment décisif de leur histoire, les Tsaatans parviendront-ils à survivre à la rencontre de leur monde avec le nôtre ?
