"Wave" was designed to appear completely integrated with the existing architecture, creating an elegant, dynamic canopy over the main ballroom balcony entry. Five semi-transparent forms evoke the roll of waves as they spring off the façade of the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The concept is supported through computer modulated, kinetic LED lighting. At night, gentle, undulating wave/tide patterns, of brilliant light emanate from the sculpture. During the day the sculpture displays ever-shifting moiré patterns interactive with the viewer.
"Wave" aims to merge public art with the exterior of the convention center, creating a unique placemaking experience for those within the facility as well as commuters passing by at varying speeds. The artwork is meant to evoke the movement and dynamism of a crashing wave, thereby acting as a memorable and distinctive feature of the convention center.Celebrating the Essex Street historic market of the lower east side in New York City, a landmark for over 70 years. The design is made to uplift the public with a fresh palette and a vibrant splash of fresh and tropical elements. The mural is 24x200 feet painted with acrylic & spray paint.
“Open Door" is an illuminated portal, a door of vivid, colored glass. It is a symbol of a bright transformation and adventure that begins with creative, innovative education. Measuring 15 feet high, 8 feet across, and 2 feet deep,"Open Door" acts as visual and thematic counterpart to "Wave of Knowledge."
Installed on the site of Eero Saarinen’s North Christian Church in Columbus, "Synergia" is a public pavilion that opens to the public at Exhibit Columbus between August 26th and November 26th, 2017 in Columbus, Indiana. Over five hundred of the translucent Coroplast polyhedrons, measuring about two to three feet each, work together to form elongated hexagonal units. This hexagon geometry echoes the overall geometry of Saarinen’s mid-century modernist architecture and at the same time serves as the building block of a complex and diverse structure that is 25 ft in width and 11 ft in height.
