  • Narduli Studio created OBJECT PERMANENCE as a visual narrative of the legendary westward journey along Route 66 to the California Coast. The 12’ tall by 8’ wide artwork is sited in the lobby of the new Marriott Hotel along Route 66 in downtown Santa Monica. It juxtaposes video shot along the historic route with data-driven animations tied to the ebb and flow of the Pacific Ocean where Route 66, the Highway of Dreams, meets the coast at the Santa Monica Pier just blocks away.

  • This public art sculpture is a cube with faces delineated by polygonal shapes, and another object is hidden inside. In accordance with the idea of hidden art, by touching the surface of “Cubed/Uncubed” the object can be “awoken” — it becomes completely transparent, and only then reveals the “object hidden inside the object” to the viewer.
The object, enclosed inside the sculpture, is inspired by the art of origami. The aesthetics of origami — the Japanese art of folding various figures from paper — is close to the skillful manual work of Takumi, the Japanese masters, whose standards and rules are taken as a founding principle in the creation of Lexus cars.

  • Wind of Boston: Data Paintings is a site-specific work that turns the invisible patterns of wind in and around Boston into a series of poetic data paintings within a 6’ x 13’ digital canvas. By using a one-year data set collected from Boston Logan Airport, Refik Anadol Studios developed a series of custom software to read, analyze and visualize wind speed, direction, and gust patterns along with time and temperature at 20-second intervals throughout the year.

  • A multimedia spectacle on the façade of Reims Cathedral, that highlights the city’s cultural heritage. Anchored in history, Regalia is a meaningful experience that respects the site’s religious, historical and cultural heritage while also offering a spectacular and contemporary creative reimagining. Regalia begins with an interactive game that invites the public to closely observe the cathedral’s animated façade, in order to answer questions within a mobile app. It is then followed by a projection mapping spectacle that plunges the audience into the emotional atmosphere of a coronation, following the various rituals of the ceremony surrounding the crowning of a French monarch.
