    April 27, 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the end of legalized racial oppression in South Africa — known officially as “apartheid.” However, most people still don’t know the name of an important anti-apartheid hero — a man named Dimitri Tsafendas; he died in a psychiatric hospital in 1999. In an attempt to bring an end to white supremacy in South Africa, Dimitri Tsafendas assassinated South Africa’s then-Prime Minister, Hendrik Verwoerd, in 1966.

  • I have mixed feelings about this memoir by Thomas Chatterton Williams. On the one hand, I agree with some of the reasonable arguments presented in the book. At the same time, IMHO a lot of problematic statements are made which sadly diminish the author's credibility.
