    One of the reported sources for the New York Post’s article was Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer. Giuliani met last year with a Ukrainian official who was sanctioned in September and accused of acting as a Russian agent. The FBI are currently investigating whether the emails were part of a foreign intelligence operation.

    Republicans are backing the New York Post’s article

    Despite the dubious authenticity of the emails, Republicans swiftly latched onto it as affirmation of conspiracy theories they've long pedaled involving the Biden family and Ukraine. They have criticised news outlets for not reporting it, and Twitter and Facebook for limiting the spread of the article.
