Sensei Ag's primary focus is to bring healthy, affordable food to the masses by making indoor farming more accessible and more sustainable.
Ellison aims to create "the first economically viable, 100 percent green community" on the Hawaiin island — one that is self-sufficient and uses renewable energy and sustainable agriculture. A big part of that goal is Sensei Ag, a company whose mission is to feed the world by making produce more nutrient-rich and accessible and lowering the barrier to entry for vertical or greenhouse farming.
On the island of Lanai
Called Sensei Retreat, the spa uses data to track and improve guests' nutrition, sleep, and fitness.
Lanai, which is home to about 3,200 residents, is the smallest inhabited island in Hawaii. Ellison lives in Lanai full-time and plans to use "the power of Zoom" to work from the island.
Theoretically, one could cover nearly every inch of the island's roads on a single charge of a Model S Long Range Plus, which has an EPA-estimated range of 402 miles.
More About Ellison's Life
Ellison dropped out of college twice and didn't become a billionaire until age 49.
The home was built in 1998, and it's unclear why Ellison would want to knock it down.
