What Makes the Federal Employees Retirement System So Good?

The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) is one of many different retirement plans out there. Employees working in the executive, judicial or legislative branch of the federal government have the opportunity to receive retirement benefits from three sources: Social Security, the Thrift Savings Plan and the basic benefit plan. These are all the parts that make up the FERS.
