Using worship songs to illustrate my faith is one my of favorite ways to get in th world - I love this and one of my favorite songs?!? Doesn't get much better!!! #Repost @mybelles101 ・・・ Still singing "10,000 Reasons" by Matt Redman, and adding the memory of this morning's beautiful sunrise to my bible. Psalm 113:3 - "From the rising of the sun to its seeing, the name of the LORD is to be praised!" #illustratedfaith #illustratedfaithdaily2016 #biblejournaling #mybellesillustratedjourney

Do you ever read a verse and read it about 100 more times and then read EVERY translation and just think... "Hmmm I'm confused" . Yeah me too lol . I read psalm 51:16-17 today for the #SRTlent study and it just didn't click guys.. . Then I read the message version and prayed over this page and God totally ringed me back in. . The message version states, "I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love don't for a moment escape Gods notice." . As I was praying over my page I felt God just truly say in my heart, "the world tells you, hide your feelings, hide your hurt, move on and don't look back." But God says, "you matter, your feelings matter, show your feelings. I HURT WHEN YOU HURT." . God calls us to come into his presence naked. Completely stripped of all fears, anxiety, judgment and burden. He says, "I'm here let me mend your broken heart." . When we cry, He cries. When we feel judged, He feels judged. When our hearts break, His heart breaks. . We serve a God who accepts every flaw, every shattered piece and every sorrow we have. He accepts us. We are accepted, loved and put back together by our Lord. . . #illustratedfaith #illustratedfaithdaily #illustratedfaithdaily2016 #biblejournaling #biblejournalingcommunity #biblejournalwithshelby

Like I mentioned yesterday I have always loved worship music. I can feel Gods presence through it and I've always sang way too loud to it. Because no one can hear me over the singers right? (😬) while, I always could "feel" it like I wanted to just surrender myself in that moment of the song and freely worship my King. Whether that meant I raised my hands, bowed my head of rocked back and forth... But I used to be so nervous! I was scared to be "that person" and have people judge me... Then one day I remember totally just breaking down during worship and knowing those lyrics were God talking to me and I raised my hand and worshiped my King FREELY. . I didn't care what the person next to me was thinking because it's not about our worldly relationships in that moment. It's about our relationship with God. It's about letting go of all the worries and burdens this world carries and surrendering ourselves to Him. . Not saying you HAVE to raise your hands during worship music or do anything really. BUT don't let the fear of "embarrassment" stop you from actually worshiping your savior. No matter what you do, someone will judge you. Focus on the most important relationship we have. . The one with our redeemer! So what if I look "silly." I'm super in love with my savior and value the times of worship I have with Him. 💜 . #illustratedfaith #illustratedfaithdaily #illustratedfaithdaily2016 #biblejournaling #biblejournalingcommunity #biblejournalwithshelby

Day 33. I was flipping through the pages in Genesis I haven't done and the story of Judah and Tamar combined with the betrayal of Joseph's brothers caught my attention. I went back and read the #srtgenesis study on it and ended up loving it. Both of these stories aren't exactly pleasant ones, they wouldn't be brought up at a family reunion, they're definitely skeleton in the closet material. I love that they're included in the bible though, these people weren't perfect, they were like me. They made mistakes, did stupid things, and hurt each other and their creator. Only Jesus was perfect and these stories help highlight it for me. Jesus came and lived a perfect life and then sacrificed himself so next time I do something stupid, I can be forgiven. The quote on the page is from Les Miserable, and I thought it fit pretty well. Even the darkest nights, the worst sins, end when the son (or the sun) rises. Amen! 🙏🙏🙏 #illustratedfaith #illustratedfaithdaily2016 #shereadstruth #biblejournaling #biblejournalingcommunity

I remember the days I would just look up a verse in my phone and call it a day. "I totally spent time with God today." . Through #biblejournaling my time with God has been so much more intentional! . This morning I just felt yucky.. I felt in a bad mood and irritated. As I opened up my @shereadstruth app (I'm doing the psalms study until lent ) this verse is TOTALLY what I needed to hear! Verse 13 states, "keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it." . God totally knows our heart friends! I promise you, if you're struggling today open up your bible and God will reveal himself to you 💜 . #illustratedfaith #illustratedfaithdaily2016 #illustratedfaithjanuary #biblejournal #biblejournalingcommunity #biblejournalwithshelby

I was helping my Kindergartener with her "100 Days of School" Project so I had 🌈s on the brain. #tastetherainbow #myhouseissodark BUT there is so much to learn from Moses. I love God's response to Moses' excuses. “The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭4:11-12‬ . How many times do I try and get out of things! I never feel good enough. But I want to always remember that if God has called me to do it, He will make it happen! He does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called! ❤️

Day 32/366 of #illustratedfaithdaily2016 - This week's homework in my Beth Moore "Living Beyond Yourself" study was all about the fruit of faithfulness, and oh, was it ever good. Our faith needs to be based on WHO God is, not what He does. There are so many things in this life that we just cannot understand, because His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. His plans are good. We may not see that, because we're too focused on this world, but He sees everything through the lens of eternity. I loved this: "Deliverance does not mean ease... Difficulty does not necessarily mean disaster. Heavy winds and raging seas don't always mean you're on the wrong course. It may mean you're right on target." We have to stop believing that everything hard is bad. Sometimes, we need to go THROUGH the storm because God is focused on our CHARACTER, not our comfort. #mybellesillustratedjourney #illustratedfaith #biblejournaling

Life , no doubt, has a way of making us crumble. Even when we think we are the strongest of structures, it seems sometimes that it just won’t stop until we’ve hit the ground. We could be made of the best of brick or steel…but if our foundation is nonexistent or if it isn’t sturdy, we can’t withstand the blows we encounter. If Jesus is our foundation, then we could be structures made of straw and be as sturdy as the strongest steel. With Jesus as our foundation, we can face the harshest storms and never collapse because it is Him that keeps us standing. We cannot depend on ourselves, success, money, fame, whatever, to keep us secure or to base our lives upon. He is the only lasting foundation that we should build our lives on. If we do, nothing can knock us down.

Bible study this morning continued on Jonah by Priscilla Shirer. Such a fabulous reminder that no matter where we are, in the "belly of our circumstance" we can call out to God and He WILL HEAR US! I identified with Hannah in that I suffered with infertility. Even though I was never mocked, it was still a difficult path to travel. I tried to show joy when my friends got pregnant but I was covering up a deep sadness. My desire for a child overwhelmed me with sorrow when it went unmet. God understood my feelings and brought comfort when I turned to Him. He is a GOOD GOD. You could never imagine the number of children that he has placed in my life to love. I praise His name. I used pan pastels for this challenge. #imprintedheart #illustratedfaith #biblejournaling #bibleartjournalingchallenge #faithinheart

““O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:55-57‬ ‭ESV‬‬ I wanted to do this one last night as well, but I got too tired so I did it tonight instead! #biblejournaling #illustratedfaith
