July 7, 2014 "The Cleaner" Today I began a week's photography workshop at a local Brooklyn middle school. As I walked to the parking lot to get into my car, I saw a very diminutive man jump back from a garbage trailer after dumping a bag twice his size into the gaping hole on the side of the bin. "Ahhhh, I didn't see all this milk," he said looking down on his chest to see how badly it had splashed up on him. Sixty one year Benjamin Odom junior has been on the job for 27 years. The father of five does not have a problem cleaning up after people. "It's my job. I am a cleaner. I cook also. I cook in the mornings, I have been doing that for 31 years. In the evenings I start my job as a custodian. I do it for the kids, I feed them then I clean up after them." He said that he does not think the the students respect him or even their parents and this he said was the reason why he has seen a lack of respect from kids nowadays. "If they don't respect their parents or their elders, they won't respect themselves, and that is just how it is." #oggl_ig #blackportraiture #makeportraits #makeportrait #brooklynportrait #brooklynphotography #igers #instamood #webstagram #documentary #sonyrx1 Photographing also for @everydayusa

The 149-mile Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River flows through theUpper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in Montana. The land and the rugged, surrounding uplands (commonly call the Missouri Breaks) are defined in part by their history. The entire region was the homeland and lifeblood of American Indians. The river served as the pathway for Lewis and Clark, then the waterway for steamboats and a drawing card for fur trappers and traders. Later, the river and the Missouri Breaks were sanctuaries for desperados trying to stay a step ahead of the law. The land was also a source of hope and inspiration for several generations of homesteaders. Today the public lands in the monument make a significant contribution to the local lifestyle and the regional economy. Within the monument you can float the river, fish, hike, hunt, drive for pleasure, find a little solitude, enjoy a sense of exploration or simply marvel at the variety of resources around you.
