"A moment to appreciate my loyal partner-in-crime during photoshoots, and all of life in general: A pensive Pepper pondering upon a tree stump for a whole 0.2 seconds before the woodland squirrels beckoned and the regular mighty chases ensued throughout the fairytale forest." - @elizabethgadd Find & follow her at 500px.com/elizabethgadd Happy Sunday! Photo by @nickcobbing Looking down over the Lance ship as the research vessel moves through the sea ice in the Arctic Ocean. The surrounding cracks mean the ship is free of the ice and able to navigate a path through the floes. Later the ship became frozen 'fast' in the ice, meaning the ice all around the ship's hull was strong enough to walk on. That's when our story began.. You can see more pictures from the extreme scientific expedition, which I photographed for @natgeo and you can read the full story on the website at: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2016/01/arctic-ice-environment-text The story is also in the January print edition of the magazine, out soon!

Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz A classic winter excursion in New York City is a spin on Wollman Rink in Central Park. The rink was named after Kate Wollman, who donated funds for it in 1961. When the rink fell into disrepair in the 1986, Donald Trump personally paid to have the it renovated. The rink is currently managed as a joint venture by the Trump Organization and Rink Management Services, and all religions are allowed!
