Before you know it, you'll be able to shake off your parka, throw on a short-sleeve shirt, and head outside to bask in the springtime sun and get a great workout in all at once.

Here are some of the best outdoor workouts you can try that'll instantly put a little spring in your step.

1. 30 Minute HIIT Workout

Running is a great outdoor workout, but there are so many other options available to you this summer. This 30-minute routine designed by PT Gideon Akande is perfect for you to try outside today.

For each exercise, do as many reps as you can in the time that’s indicated. Once you’ve done one set of each exercise, that’s 1 cycle. Complete a total of 5 cycles for a 30-minute sweat fest.

- Bodyweight Squat Jump: 60 seconds

- High-Knee Skip: 45 seconds

- Press-Up: 60 seconds

- Seal Jacks: 45 seconds (Like a jumping jack, only clap your hands in front of your body.)

20-Metre Sprint: Repeat 8 lengths

2. A Simple Plyo Workout

If you want an outdoor workout that is ridiculously easy to follow, try this one. It’s just three steps that are repeated for 30 minutes straight. Can’t really get simpler than that.

- Do as many clap press-ups as you can.

- Run 50 metres.

- Lunge back 50 meres.

3. Outdoor Medicine Ball Workout

Here's a fun workout for you: Throw a ball and chase it.

OK, so it’s not just any ball, it’s a medicine ball — and it will challenge your entire body like no other workout. Best of all, it’s easy to follow and can be done just about anywhere.

Here’s how it works: Throw a medicine ball as far as you can, run to it wherever it lands, and repeat for 30 minutes. It's that simple. Throwing the ball strengthens the muscles throughout your hips and core, while running after it builds total-body power.

4. Hitting The Bench

Head to the park, find a bench, and stake your claim on it for a quick workout.

Once you find your bench, perform 10 reps per side of each exercise. That’s 1 round. Do 5 to 10 rounds total, and rest when needed.

- Single-leg hip thrusts

5. 8-Minute Fat-Burning Routine

Odds are you have eight minutes to spare. This heart-pounding routine is super quick, and it can really be done anywhere — including outside.

Perform as many reps of each of the exercises below as you can in 30 seconds. Once you’ve completed one set of all three exercises, that’s 1 cycle. After each cycle, rest for 30 seconds, then repeat the entire thing. Complete a total of 4 times for an 8-minute total-body workout.
