SYDNEY, Australia. One of the most beautiful cities we shot, both by day and by night. This shot is from the end of a long day of shooting, when the city fell into darkness and the lights came on and the entire city just sparkled. This image is now available as a 22x28" lithograph http://www.laforetair.com/proddetail.php?prod=AIR_SYDNEY It was an honor and pleasure to partner with @canonaustralia to capture this stunning city. An interesting story about Sydney really encapsulated the elements of chance, opportunity and good fortune that underpinned much of Project AIR (and made it, at times, very, very challenging for me). We actually had a real challenge initially trying to get someone to fly us in Sydney (trying to find a heli company AND pilot who was willing, able, qualified, respected AND happy to take us up wasn't easy). As always, opportunities presented themselves - a chance meeting with aerial cinematographer Nathan Tomlinson of @filmhelicopters at SMPTE (SMPTE is the Australian equivalent of NAB) connected us with the excellent team over at @sydneyhelichart and our OUTSTANDING pilot, Eemon Marstella. One of the very few female helicopter pilots out there, Eemon was a real master and a joy to fly with! Big thanks to both Sydney HeliCharter and Eemon again - you guys rock!
