An unilateral #collab with the late Johann Heinrich Schönscheidt for #vanishingsunday. His shot, my edit. / He took this snap of the railway bridge over the river Lek at Kuilenberg, Holland. Spanning 150 meters, at the time of the photo it was the longest railway bridge in Europe. Johann Heinrich took this in 1868, just as it was completed. He lived from 1835 to 1903. / The curators at the Rijksmuseum left the following adroit comment below it: "The cropping, which heightens the perspectival effect of the steel girders, is surprinsigly modern". Unfortunately a very stern looking lady almost screamed when I tried to have the first Like on his shot with a double tap on the glass over the image. Needless to say, I did not even try to scribble a courteous "Lovely!" comment below theirs. Man, so old fashioned!
