Photo // @jimmy_chin Amazing to see the attention @tommycaldwell and @kjorgeson have garnered on their attempt to free climb the Dawn Wall on El Capitan. The world class athleticism and living on the exposed vertical realm of Yosemite’s biggest wall have certainly captured the imagination of the masses. Here, @kjorgeson has less than a total of one square inch of his finger tips and shoe tips keeping him attached to the wall. (I shot this photo of Kevin on assignment for @natgeo a few years ago while they were working on the Dawn Wall route.) Ironically, Tommy and Kevin each likely have the physical strength, ability and endurance to climb the route, but it’s the worn out skin on their finger tips that is currently the limiting factor.
