Photo @pedromcbride / On a misty dawn, a male #lion defends his meal - a kudu kill on the #Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa. Of the estimated 30,000 lions that live in the wild, 1500 live in Botswana - the only country with over 1000 individuals. Due to human encroachment, hunting and habitat loss, lion populations have shrunk dramatically in recent years. #wild #nature #cycleoflife #simba #king #journeysunforgettable @thephotosociety

My niece runs across the sand in Destin, Florida. Photo by @salvarezphoto. I love the Gulf coast, the warm water, the soft sand… But these beaches are doomed unless we do something about climate change. Rising sea levels will inundate much of Florida and the Gulf Coast in her lifetime. This is my reason for why we must #ActOnClimate. What’s yours?

Established in February, 1929, Grand Teton National Park lies within the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. At only 310,000 acres it's much smaller than Yellowstone National Park to the north, but none the less the Teton Range has to be one of the most photographed locations of any National Park. Here photographer @chamiltonjames enjoys the view (photo by @drewtrush) #lookintothegye #greateryellowstoneecosystem #grandteton #wyoming #bigwonderfulwyoming #iphoneonly

Last Spring, the Colorado River fought its way across the Sonoran Desert in Sonora and Baja #Mexico, clawing its way to the Sea of Cortez. Thanks to the help of a unique pulse flow experiment that has never been tested before, drainage tendrils filled with fresh water and kissed the sea - briefly. Breathtaking Photos of the Blue Forest in Belgium

If you love discovering extraordinary travel destinations off the beaten path, do we have a place for you. Though this may look like a scene straight out of a fairy-tale, this blue forest is, in fact, real. Just 30 minutes south of Brussels, in Belgium, is a forest called Hallerbos. During the …

The three majestic natural bridges of Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah invite you to ponder the power of water in a landscape usually defined by its absence. View them from an overlook, or hit the trails and experience their grandeur from below. Declared a National Monument in 1908, the bridges are named "Kachina," "Owachomo" and "Sipapu" in honor of the Native Americans that once made this area their home. This is also home to some of the darkest night skies in the United States. Photo: Manish Mamtani

Photo: @coryrichards | The world is a dynamic place, infinitely resilient and yet very fragile. Our impacts are undeniable and it's our responsibility to act. The planet is a surprising and beautiful place full of surprises. All of my life, I've been inspired by our wild places...and there is no doubt that our actions as a human family are having dire effects. My reason to #ActOnClimate is to save the wild places that have given me so much peace and inspiration.
