@Waterlust About the Shot: Perspective. This over/under shot was captured in the Floridan Aquifer near Ginnie Springs. We used a homemade dome we built for $30 using parts we had laying around the lab. The dome allows the water interface to be pulled away from the camera lens, providing a rad view of what's happening above and below the water. How it was Captured: We often shoot these kind of shots with the GoPro rotated 90 degrees so we can take advantage of the wide field of view in the vertical. To operate the camera while its in the dome, we use the wifi remote so there is no need for a complex mechanism to press any buttons. Works perfect! #GoPro #overunder #perspective

@travisburkephotography About the shot: We set out on a hike along the outskirts of San Diego. After climbing a few thousand feet, we made it to the top of the mountain a little before sunset. It was intimidating to walk out onto this rock for the first time and at some points it's only a few inches thick, but after a few good bounce tests we decided it was safe and set up our tent just in time to watch the sun go down. We stayed up that night to watch the city lights slowly illuminate the landscape below as the stars shined bright overhead. How the shot was captured

@travisburkephotography The Wave, Arizona. About the shot: Getting to this ancient sandstone formation is a bit like a treasure hunt, with no direct trail and only a map showing the natural landmarks to follow. After wandering for 3 miles in the desert, you walk into these incredible petrified sand dunes that were sculpted by wind and water during the Jurassic Age. If you know where to look you can even spot dinosaur footprints still preserved in the sand. How it was captured: The GoPro was low to the ground to capture the surface texture and set on 0.5 sec time-lapse mode while I walked around to give me a variety of images to chose from. #GoPro #arizona #Travel #Summer

Photo by @CarltonWard // Eglin Air Force Base protects the oldest longleaf pine trees remaining in Florida, and is at the heart of the longest corridor of longleaf pine habitat left on the planet. Flying above the region this week, I had a goal of communicating the mystery and expanse of this under-appreciated habitat that is the fabric of the @FL_WildCorridor in north Florida. This sunrise photograph from Is one of my new favorites. Mature longleaf pines develop a charismatic flat-top canopy after 150-or-so years as they start putting more energy into growing out than up. There are 500-years-old trees at Eglin, pre-dating when Columbus arrived in the New World. #FloridaWild #KeepFLWild
