Some fun facts about the Chakras; Chakras are most commonly depicted as rainbows and lotus blossoms. All life and all energy comes from light. The seven colors of the spectrum, as seen in the rainbow, are representative of the seven major chakras. Lotus blossoms. Although each chakra has its associated element, yoga posture, and Hindu deity, their most common depiction is the lotus flower. The base chakra is symbolized by the four-petaled lotus, the second by the six-petaled, and so on up to the crown chakra with its thousand-petaled lotus. The flowers are usually depicted in the color associated with the same chakra, and the symbols are very intricate and beautiful. When one charka is more activated than the others -- or more open than the others, it's considered being unbalanced... Much has been written about "balancing the chakras". In essence, when your chakras are unbalanced, your life is unbalanced. If attention is paid to physical matters at the expense of intellectual and/or spiritual ones, the being as a whole will suffer. In humans, the lower chakras (those associated with activities like sexuality, reproduction and digestion, among others) tend to predominate. When more attention is paid to the higher chakras (intellectual and spiritual), they become more active and the person as a whole more balanced. Animals have chakras too... Animals have chakras, but typically the higher centers of consciousness and spirituality are less developed in animals. Conversely, paw chakras and the third eye chakra (which governs intuition and instinct) can be much more developed. Research is quite limited in this topic. People with weak auras or chakras are usually very depressed and have poor health. They are also prone to misfortune. Periods of time where one goes through a depressed state - or a misfortune state is a great time to build and work on one's aura or chakra -- making them stronger -- to help get out of their "rut". Your aura and your charkas work closely together. If the aura is weak, odds are the chakras are also unbalanced -- and vica versa.... Your energy from your aura can be drained by another person and all of us have actually experienced that. This happens if we feel very tired or exhausted after spending time with someone or talking to him or her (even on the phone). To prevent this you can close your aura so that your energy will only circulate through out your own body and around your own auric field. Closing your aura is when you cross your legs at the ankles and touch your finger tips together and focus on keeping the energy within --- circling around and around, flowing, but only within.... There are also chakras in the palms of our hands (called hand chakras) and on the soles of our feet. Hand and foot chakras are smaller than the major chakras. Healthy central chakras are usually anywhere from 3 - 5 inches in diameter, while the feet and hand chakras are generally somewhat smaller, 2 - 3 inches in diameter. Know a fun fact about our chakras? -- Feel free to share! Love and light, Zoey <3
