Mariela Polanco-Ferreyra send us this nice drawing. She started it back in 2008 but finished by this past December. The whole idea behind the drawing was to simplify the thinking process and information storage and usage. So, she decided surrealism inspired by Salvador Dali was the way to go. The tubes try to oversimplify synapses, and how thoughts travel from neurone to neurone, how every command our brain gives travels. The incorporation of anatomy in the drawing wants to also show how something looks simple when you look at it from the surface, but in fact it's not. The building block that make the whole are complicated, beautiful, but in that complexity they are simple. Mariela is fascinated by how simple yet complex and complicated human body is, how every single chemical reaction depends on so many factors to get the right product, or how the movement of muscle seems so simple, yet it depends on nerve impulses and metabolic reactions for this movement to actually happen, and so on. That's the main idea behind this drawing.

Because we love infographics we want to share this one titled "The Wonderful World of Energy" http://bit.ly/10aexYv
