You don't need to spend a dime to tighten and tone thoseabdominals. You only need to understand a few things about the human body. Body fat is located directly beneath the skin. Do you know where most of the rest of it is? Inside the muscles. Doing crunches will not get rid of this fat, and neither will any vibrating belt in the television ads. BURN THE FAT The best way to slim down in the middle is to do plenty of cardiovascular exercise. Some good examples of this are: walking, jogging, swimming aerobicsbicycling...and high-activity sports like racquetball, tennis and basketball. Anything that brings your heart rate to its training zone and keeps it there for at least twenty minutes conditions your heart and burns fat. As you lose subcutaneous fat, your skin will become more taut. As the fat within your muscles decreases, you will appear more toned and less flabby. Don't be afraid to use weights. Adding more mass to your muscles, will rev up your metabolism to heights it has never before reached. Your body fat is like one organ, located throughout your body, and you can't take it off of just one spot unless you have liposuction done. AB METHODS WALKING Walking puts all of the abdominal muscles to work. Walk for at least thirty minutes a day to achieve the aerobic effect, and be sure to drink plenty of water. WEIGHT TRAINING Contrary to a popular myth, lifting weights will not bulk you up with muscles that will eventually turn to more fat. They will give you a more feminine and symmetrical shape. YOGA Yoga is equally effective at strengthening the body, especially the abs and back. It improves the posture tremendously, to create a taller, leaner appearance. THE MINDSET The most important thing you need to do is to program yourself mentally. Don't use a scale to measure your progress. If you work out with weights, you may gain a few pounds while losing inches around the waist. Walk as tall as you can. Do back and leg stretches daily to improve your posture.

Search for more GI foods if you are more interested in this. TRAINING FOR INSULIN SENSITIVITY You can lose fat through healthy eating and a lack of exercise, but there is no question that there will be limits to where you can get to and that proper training will speed the process up dramatically. "Similarly to insulin, a single bout of exercise increases the rate of glucose uptake into the contracting skeletal muscles". This makes exercise a crucial strategy for fast fat loss. Types of training will have varying effects on insulin sensitivity. You should aim to perform growth hormone (GH) stimulating workouts as growth hormone and insulin are shown to be inversely correlated. CONCLUSION Insulin is clearly a double edged sword. It is extremely anabolic and can help you build muscle but also is one of the most over stimulated hormones which inevitably results in fat storage. 1.Contrast Methods · Here are a few tidbits on contrast methods that I think you'll find interesting: Always start with hot and end with cold (unless you plan to go to sleep afterwards, in which case you should end with heat.) The recipe involves Epsom salts, Celtic or tropical sea bath salts, a mixture of solution drops from my cleansing kit, and finally an aromatherapy concoction of lavender and chamomile. 4. Sleep Sleep is regulated by two entirely different systems - the sleep homeostat and circadian rhythms. The sleep homeostat "functions like a drive that builds up during wakefulness in pretty much a linear fashion and is discharged when you sleep... The homeostatic pressure to sleep depends not only on how long you are awake but on how active you are while awake." 5. Massage Every Thursday afternoon, my massage therapist (ironically another blonde) comes over to work on me. Generally, this is a deep tissue massage and we concentrate on a specific area that may be ailing me or that was worked hard that week. If I've had a particularly stressful week, I'll just get her to give me a full body massage and I try to clear my mind of everything that's going on. #gymexercises
