Stamford. A brisk June Sunday morning. 6 miles for cancer @ Hope in Motion. Not the best course -- but surrounded by friends -- making this one of my favs. #seeunextyear

2pm - not a run, but a warm summer prep hike in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation M. Great hike, great views... And only 20 minutes from home. #loveCT

1:30pm - warm day at the beach in Hammonasset Beach State Park, CT. Great trails to run... Found myself on a shell island. Quite cool.

8am - Field, British Columbia -- Yoho National Park, Canada. Ran to this spot down a long and quiet access road... Watching for bears the whole time. Great run, bit too quiet though.

7:45am -- downtown Banff, Alberta Canada. Amazing trip... Great views, wildlife, and so many good hikes. You should go.

Another Sunday morning -- this time the Fairfield 1/2 Marathon. Shoes off, straight into the ocean. Hot weather today... Really tough run.

Sunday morning 10k for an important cause -- the Stamford Hospital Cancer Center. So many years doing this race... Surrounded by friends.

7:15am - Mexico City. Back in the park -- and got to properly investigate the parks this trip (miles and miles of it!). Air pollution and 7k foot altitude made running here a slower go this time... But it's still better than a treadmill in a hotel!

6:45am - Monterrey Mexico. Nice run -- surrounded by lots of other runners -- and fresh air for an industrial city. 72 degrees already -- the day topped out at 95 degrees... Wow.

2:30pm. Fairly comfortable weather. 7.5mile run through Berlin's Großer Tiergarten... Then walked through the Memorial for the Murdered Jews (pictured). Powerful and peaceful.

6:50am... Cold 3.5mile spring run in Berlin. So many good runs... Lots of parks, lots of serious sights to see, and all before most leave their homes. Graffiti is at a whole new level in this town. Streets and parks are clean but there's graffiti everywhere.

7:20am - Gold Coast Trail, Chicago. Warming up... High 40's is great running weather, and this is one of my favorite trails. Along the water and out to the end of Navy Pier and back. The echoes of a thousand Seagulls across the harbor is distracting but good, since everything else is quiet.

7:40am, Easton PA. Chilly with a light rain. The fields, crops and neighborhoods shelter young families, waking for their day. Plenty of places to run... Enjoy.

4:30pm. A Barcelona spring afternoon explore/run in a beautiful city; a few tough hills though. [circa 2003]

7:45am, College Park, MD. Family is still asleep in the hotel... Found a great trail near the university packed with other early birds. Lots of twists & turns... Awesome, beautiful.

7:25am, Toronto. Great running trail behind my hotel, eureka! Warm late summer air, perfect for burning off the heavy meal I'm sure to eat today.

A fall Saturday morning in Stamford. 9:30am. Warm and awesome... 1/2 way through my favorite 7mile run. This is what Saturday's are for.

Balmy and warm. Day after Christmas... Miami. Treasuring the mornings near my family... And a run to celebrate everyone's good health. Nice trek along US1, under the Metrorail. Better than it sounds for sure.

7am. Dadeland awakes on Christmas Day 2015... Miami-style. Crickets... No one is up, streets are empty today... Here's wishing for a good day ahead.

#CES2016. Day1. Vegas @7:30am... People walking to work, exhibitors heading to the LVCC, traffic pours into the city. This city is NOT designed for runners. Lots of stairs to get more than a block or two... Still worth it.

7:30 am, brisk early November morning -- Half Moon Bay, California. The Coastal Trail delivers great views... With sidewalk or beach run options. Woot! - this is the beach run.

7:30 am, brisk early November morning -- Half Moon Bay, California. The Coastal Trail delivers great views... With sidewalk or beach run options. Woot! -- this is the trail...

7:12am mid-August, Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. Long, flat run along the Canadian side of the Niagara River. No tourists yet... Lovely.

9:30am on an early August Sunday morning in Stamford, CT... Getting pretty warm now. But still my favorite local run for the reservoir views -- and the North Stamford hills. Just awesome.

7:49am, Nusa Dua peninsula, Bali, Indonesia, in early March. Sandy beach run ends with a lush cliff, wandering cows, wild dogs everywhere (they are honored here), surfers, and a Buddhist temple. Amazing experience.

7:02am, Cupertino California in April. Great weather, beautiful landscaping and a global tech capital; who wouldn't want to live here too?

8:21am, The Regent's Park,London England. Great running trails, plenty of wide open spaces, geese in the lakes and royal homes abound. Not bad for a city center...

8am, Gold Coast, Chicago IL. Always a great run -- and in June there's great weather to boot. Burn some calories to make room for the great food!

7:15am, Bosque de Chapultepec, Mexico City in May. Beautiful park and home to a castle, modern art museum and a zoo... And is one of the largest city parks in the Western Hemisphere. Great loop trails for runners... You won't be bored!

7:47am, Charles River Run -- Boston Mass in May by the Harvard campus. Flowers blooming, scullers sculling (as always)... A great start to the day.
