The storm that was once a tropical storm in the Caribbean last week has now become a deadly hurricane. Hurricane Harvey has now upgraded to a category 4 storm in the Gulf of Mexico. It has winds up to 130 mph and is 500 miles wide. Texas and Louisiana are under a hurricane watch. Hurricane warnings are issued from Corpus Christi to Houston and other cities in South Texas. Millions of people are advised to evacuate coastal areas and low-lying areas. Texas governor Greg Abbott has requested a disaster declaration for Southeast Texas. Torrential rainfall, high winds, and massive flooding is expected throughout the duration. Hurricane Harvey is expected to make landfall tonight and is expected to stall through next week. It's the most dangerous hurricane to hit Texas since Hurricane Carla made landfall as a category 4 storm on September 3, 1961.
