There are so many tangent truths that can have profound benefit when applied to healing from CSA. For example, aiming for an 85% productivity leaves room for mistakes and breaks. I.e., letting go of being Ms Perfect as a result of abuse, can actually make you *more perfect.* Yup! That's right. And when our brains are exhausted from trying to deal with life and PTSD and damaged personal boundaries and self-confidence, it's important to know that important decisions should probably be made in the morning when you aren't in decision fatigue. Remember the old addage to 'sleep on it'? That old wives wisdom was right on the mark.
The point... keep learning. Healing from CSA isn't all about CSA. It's about bolstering your other life skills to help repair broken confidence and self-worth as well, which eventually might give you more confidence to tackle grieving your loss and coming to peace with your past. You can do it!It is very easy to become emotionally reactive after trauma and not be able to easily maintain objectivity (if at all). However, using the observer effect can help to reduce destructive internal dialog and negative feedback loops.
Have trouble falling asleep? I just tried this quick tip and was instantly relaxed and ready to take a nap. LOL. What I love most is that it's quick and easy and you should only do 4 cycles at a time. I have tried similar exercises in the past and failed because I couldn't hold my breath or I felt like I was starving for oxygen. This exercise was very quick though as I counted pretty quickly, about one count per second. I was done with all 4 cycles in about a minute and a half. So easy!
If you try this with good luck, let us know if it worked for you. When emotional trauma causes memory issues, perhaps using your nose can help you heal.
