Christo’s ‘Floating Piers’ Installation in Italy: Pictures

Photo @ladzinski / Although the #AmericanAlligator isn't an endangered species, it's protected habitat in Everglades National Park is a haven of concern. Rising sea levels are already increasing the salinity levels of the fresh water in the southern parts of the park. Unlike salt water crocodiles, alligators can't live in salt or brackish water for extended periods. Photographed on assignment for a story on climate change and its affects on America's National Parks. @andy_mann @gatorboys_chris

Photo by @james_balog. When windblown dust is deposited on the world's glaciers and ice caps, it becomes cryoconite, a dark mass of black soot that's home to many microbes, called cyanobacteria. In the winter, they go dormant until spring, when the ice sheet enter its melt phase and they return to life.
