Ecco come apparirebbe Saturno, se fosse vicino alla terra quanto è vicina la nostra luna.

An all-out #blizzard has slammed the northeastern U.S. with a thick blanket of snow. Much of New England is still being battered, while #NewYork returns to normal. We asked you to share your blizzard photos using #MashaBlizzard, and rounded up some of our favorites on our site. TelescopeCollects Its 100-Millionth Image: an instrument on our Solar Dynamics Observatory captured its 100 millionth image of the sun. The instrument is the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly, or AIA, which uses four telescopes working parallel to gather eight images of the sun – cycling through 10 different wavelengths -- every 12 seconds. In the almost five years since its launch on Feb. 11, 2010, SDO has provided images of the sun to help scientists better understand how the roiling corona gets to temperatures some 1000 times hotter than the sun's surface, what causes giant eruptions such as solar flares, and why the sun's magnetic fields are constantly on the move. This is a processed image of SDO multiwavelength blend from Jan. 19, 2015, the date of the spacecraft's 100th millionth image release. Credit: NASA/SDO #nasa #sun #sdo #telescope #science
Thank you to those of you who were able to make it to my talk at the San Francisco Apple Store the other day. I appreciate the support, feedback, and questions! It's been great being a part of Apple's #startsomethingnew campaign. If you're interested in reading more, there's a link to a Wired article in my profile. Don't miss my images in the slideshow and see if you can spot the typo in one of the captions. 🙈
When you have colours like that... You are tripping, as a photographer. I thought I had a mini heart attack, while balancing myself on a rock and thinking to myself "oh wow, oh wow". Another thought is — damn, I hope all my settings are correct. I hope I'm capturing all of it. Even with iPhone, the photos are simply beyond stunning, but seeing it for yourself is even more immersive. #sunset #sanfrancisco #rodeobeach
