American Canadian School of Medicine (ACSOM)
The American Canadian School of Medicine (ACSOM) represents a progressive approach to medical education explicitly designed for students from the United States and Canada. As a non-profit institution located in the Caribbean, ACSOM offers an integrated curriculum that reflects the high standards of North American medical schools, crafted to ensure graduates are well-prepared for medical careers in their home countries. The program spans four years, comprising two years of basic sciences taught at the institution's state-of-the-art campus in Dominica, followed by two crucial clinical rotations at partnering hospitals in the United States. Accredited by the Independent Association of Accredited Registrars (IAAR) and the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM), ACSOM is also recognized by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME). This recognition confirms the validity of its qualifications in the U.S. and Canada, certifying that graduates are eligible for residency positions.
