This beautiful Nasir ol Molk Mosque in Shiraz was built in 19th century by the order of Iranian aristocrat Nasir ol Molk. '“A greeting is your passport.” This is a popular Haitian proverb we applied often throughout our travels in Haiti, from city streets to rural mountain areas. When we said “hello” in the local creyol to this girl on her way home from school in the Chaîne de la Selle Mountains, she greeted us in return. She showed us her schoolbooks and proudly told us in French, the language in which she studies, about her school and her favorite subjects. Shy maybe, but certainly confident.' 'Our visit to Egypt in late 2011 coincided with presidential elections and a second wave of conflict and security concerns related to the Arab Spring. Tourism was devastated. In response to this, everyone we met wanted to make sure we felt safe and protected. We met this woman while walking through a street market in Alexandria. She gave us a warm, wise look: “You are welcome here.”' | Daniel Noll, @uncornered_market #lpInstaTakeover

Photo by @alisonwrightphoto // Malagan ceremonial mask on Lissengung Island, New Ireland, Papua New Guinea. This mask was carved by Fabian Pano who is a master carver of Malagan ceremonial masks. Fabian learned the craft from his father who learned from the generations before him. These masks used to be burned after a ceremony but there are so few carvers left, the masks are now preserved and collected. The photo is on display and available at the Holden Luntz Gallery in Palm Beach, Florida.
