The Dangers From PFAS, 'Forever Chemicals' Found in Drinking Water
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are artificial chemicals used in many everyday consumer and industrial products. They're dubbed "forever" because they don't break down in the environment, and can have adverse effects on humans when absorbed or ingested. In the U.S., the Environmental Protection Agency launched a three-year campaign to eliminate PFAS use, though the damage caused may already be too great.
Colin Powell's Blood Cancer Left Him Immunocompromised Against COVID-19
The former U.S. Secretary of State passed away on Oct. 18, a result of COVID-19 complications. Though he was fully vaccinated, Powell's multiple bouts with myeloma negatively affected his immune system. Health officials say dying after being inoculated is "extremely uncommon" and you have to factor in someone's age and pre-existing conditions. Moreover, the rate of those unvaccinated dying from the coronavirus is far higher than those who are vaccinated.
